HADITH JIBRIL 

As Muslims, we are commonly listen about hadith because hadith is one of the main source  of knowledge in Islam after Qur'an. For this time, I would like to talk about hadith specifically more to Hadith of Jibril. 

 

INTRODUCTION OF HADITH JIBRIL

What is the meaning of hadith? 

Hadith is a collection of traditions containing saying of the prophet Muhammad SAW which, with accounts of his daily practice (the Sunnah) either the words, actions, and habits of the prophet Muhammad SAW, constitute the major source of guidance for Muslim apart from the al-Quran. 

One of the most popular hadith amongst all Muslims is known as "Hadith of Jibril".  This hadith is talk about the contains definitions of Islam, faith, compassion, and the signs of the Day of Judgment according to Islamic beliefs. This hadith is narrated from the companion of Umar bin Al-Khattab. 

THE POSITION OF THE HADITH ACCORDING TO THE SCHOLARS

This hadith plays a very important role due to its content. In Syarah Arbain, Ibn Daqiqil led said: "This hadith is like the parent of sunnah. As Al-Fatihah is referred to as the parent of the Qur'an because its content which has gathered the meanings of the Qur'an. 

Cited by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in Fathul Bari that Imam Qurthubi said: " This hadith is right to be said as the parent of sunnah, because of the things contained in it from various knowledge of sunnah."
