What is the Meaning of Zakah/ Zakat? 

    Zakah is known as payment made annually under Islamic law on certain kinds of property and used for charitable and religious purposes. Zakah is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Zakah is not an option it is a compulsory act for all Muslims. This giving is to "cleanse" your money and possessions from excessive desire for them or greed. There have five types of zakah which are zakah al-fitr, zakah on gold and silver, zakah on saving, zakah on business, and zakah on livestock. 

What is the Meaning of Sadaqah? 

    Sadaqah in Islam is righteousness and it refers to the voluntary giving of alms or charity to someone who is in need. Sadaqah also refers to giving someone without seeking a return and with intention of pleasing Allah. 

The Virtues in Zakah/ Sadakah: 

1. Create a beautiful bond with other human beings, especially for those who are really in need. 

2. Avoid envy - Teach us to share the wealth we have with the needy. 

3. Promote peace in Islam. 

4. Can rid of evil qualities in our wealth -Help to purify our possession of wealth and also our inner self.
